Beyond the Beach: Creative Gold Coast Photoshoot Locations
Gold Coast Family Lifestyle and Newborn Photographer
Not every beautiful photoshoot happens at the beach
When people think of a Gold Coast family photographer, they usually picture the beach. And while I love photographing by the ocean, some of my favourite galleries have been created somewhere completely unexpected.
If you're after natural, candid family photos that feel relaxed and full of personality, the location matters far less than the connection between you.
Here are a few of my favourite alternatives.
Best Non-Beach Photoshoot Locations on the Gold Coast
Your Home
Some of the most meaningful photos are taken right where life happens. Baking together, reading stories, jumping on the bed or wandering barefoot through the backyard often tells your family's story better than anywhere else.
Your Street
Kids instantly feel comfortable close to home. Riding bikes, collecting flowers, drawing with chalk or simply going for a walk creates genuine moments that feel completely natural.
Skateparks
Skateparks aren't just for skating. Their clean lines, concrete textures and open spaces make an incredible backdrop for adventurous families, teenagers and couples wanting something a little different.
Urban Streets
Quiet streets, colourful walls and interesting textures create a modern backdrop without taking attention away from your family. They're perfect for creative family photography, couples sessions and maternity photos.
Open Fields
An empty paddock lets the focus stay exactly where it should—on your family. Running, cuddles, wildflowers and golden afternoon light create timeless images that never go out of style.
Creekside Locations
Some of my favourite hidden spots are around Currumbin and Tallebudgera, where shallow creeks, gum trees and soft evening light create a peaceful setting that's perfect for families with young children.
Studio Locations
For families who love a more creative, styled or weather-proof option, the Gold Coast has some beautiful studio spaces with completely different vibes. From light-filled natural studios to more modern, minimal spaces, there are options to suit every family, newborn session, maternity shoot or creative couple session.
A studio can be a great choice if you love the idea of beautiful images without worrying about the weather, crowds or chasing toddlers across the sand. The best part? We can choose a space that feels like you — whether that's warm and cosy, playful and colourful, or clean and editorial.
The Best Location Is One That Feels Like You
Whether we're exploring quiet streets in Burleigh Heads, wandering through Currumbin, playing beside the creek at Tallebudgera, or simply spending the afternoon at your own home, my goal is always the same—to create relaxed, natural photographs that feel like your real life.
If you're looking for a Gold Coast family photographer who focuses on genuine connection over perfect poses, I'd love to help you find a location that fits your family perfectly.
